Michael McNair, wanted for the murders of Paige Bunker and Latasha Brown, has been captured in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

According to Poplar Bluff Police Chief JR Keirsey, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Division contacted their department on December 23, 2025, advising them that McNair was a person of interest in an ongoing double homicide investigation and believed to have ties to the Poplar Bluff area.

The victim’s vehicle, equipped with a lienholder-installed tracking device, was located at an abandoned home on Benton Street, but McNair was not found at that time.
On January 8, 2026, a joint investigation involving the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, and U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force was launched, but McNair remained at large. Days before January 27, 2026, officers received new intel that led them to a residence on Highway B.
A coordinated effort between Poplar Bluff officers, Butler County deputies, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force resulted in McNair’s arrest without incident.
He will be transported back to St. Louis for further questioning regarding the double homicide.
