We pulled up to the Starbucks at the corner of Sidney and Grand where union workers are standing ten toes down on the picket line. Their message is loud and clear they’re done being overworked, understaffed, and underpaid.
These workers are calling attention to what they say are unsafe working conditions and wages that simply aren’t enough to live on. And they’re not just talking about it, they’re taking action. They’ll be out here tomorrow too, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., standing in solidarity and demanding change.
If this sounds familiar, it’s because Starbucks has been in the headlines for years over this very issue. While executives rake in millions, many baristas across the country are still fighting for the basics respect, safety, and fair pay.
The energy on the picket line is passionate and unwavering. Supporters are encouraged to stop by, show love, and stand with these workers as they continue their fight. They’ll be here today until around 12:00 or 12:30 p.m.
