39-year-old Jamell Harlan has been identified as the man who died from his injuries after being shot last week.
According to police, the shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. on December 2 in the 5800 block of St. Louis Avenue, near Goodfellow and Wells. Harlan was found with multiple gunshot wounds and transported to the hospital in critical condition.
He passed away days later on December 5. His family has been notified.
A 30-year-old man called 911 claiming to be the shooter and was detained in the 2700 block of Goodfellow. He was later released as the investigation continues.
