40-year-old David McKnight, a former Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison after admitting to searching women’s cell phones during traffic stops and recording explicit photos if he found them.
Court records show McKnight pleaded guilty to multiple counts tied to violating individuals’ rights under the color of law. Investigators say these actions happened during various traffic stops, where he abused his position.
Prosecutors called his actions inexcusable, and now he will serve time behind bars following the sentencing.
