ARGUMENT OVER A DOG LEADS TO A MAN SHOT AND KILLED DOWNTOWN

A man who was shot and killed in downtown St. Louis has now been identified as 29-year-old William Nelson.

According to St. Louis City Police, the shooting happened on Monday, April 6, around 6:40 p.m. at North 10th Street and Cass Avenue. Officers responded to a call for a shooting and arrived to find Nelson on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

EMS transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Family members and witnesses say the situation reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a dog, which was absolutely senseless.

William Nelson leaves behind a daughter, two sisters, three brothers, and both of his parents. His family is now left to grieve a life taken far too soon.
