We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of activist Lee Sowell Tyler, one of the first people who was truly boots on the ground during the Mike Brown protests in Ferguson.
Many people remember him as someone who stood at the front lines during one of the most painful and historic moments in St. Louis history. He wasn’t just talking about change online. He was outside, standing beside the people and using his voice during a time when the city was crying out to be heard.
Loved ones and fellow activists are mourning the loss of someone they describe as a real soldier for the people.
