Starting in 2026, Missouri will officially restrict what SNAP recipients can purchase and that means junk food is on its way out.
Under the Trump administration’s Make America Healthy Again initiative, the USDA just approved a new waiver that allows Missouri and five other states (Hawai‘i, North Dakota, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee) to redefine what counts as “food for purchase” under SNAP. Translation? No more chips, soda, candy, or overly processed items on your EBT card.
