Jefferson County authorities have identified the victim and suspect in a homicide investigation that began on February 14, 2026.
According to Sheriff Dave Marshak, investigators believe 46-year-old Marijon Ludwig was stabbed and shot to death by 69-year-old Billy Moman.
Law enforcement later tracked Moman to a hotel in Festus. As Sheriff’s Office teams worked to take him into custody, officials say Moman shot and killed himself inside a hotel room.
The case remains under investigation as detectives continue reviewing evidence and piecing together the timeline of events.
