Authorities responded to the 7100 block of Hazelwood Avenue in Berkeley late Wednesday night after a security was killed at the Dollar General Fresh distribution facility.
According to information from a source, a yard truck struck a contract security guard in the truck yard area shortly before the start of his shift. Emergency crews and police were called to the scene as officers secured the area and began their investigation.
The security guard later died from his injuries.
