It’s official. Riverview Mayor Michael Cornell Jr., 39, was indicted February 10 by a St. Louis County grand jury in connection with multiple serious charges.

Cornell was originally charged January 15 with four counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, three counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, one count of first-degree harassment, and one count of possession of child pornography. According to police, the charges stem from allegations made by four victims, including two minors.
The indictment means the case will now proceed through the court system. As with all criminal cases, Cornell is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
This remains an active case. We will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as more information becomes available.
