The woman killed in during a high-speed crash has been identified as 29-year-old Precious Black. Authorities say she died at the scene after fleeing from a Fairmont City, Illinois police officer. Eventually crashing near the Carrie Exit on I-70 westbound.
This marks the fifth fatal police pursuit investigated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Force Investigations Unit in 2025. Of those five, only one was initiated by an SLMPD officer.
