On Friday evening, March 18, a St. Louis County jury convicted Willian Flores, 36, of two counts of Statutory Rape 1st Degree (victim less than 12 years old) in Division 1 of St. Louis County Circuit Court.

Both victims, now in their pre-teens, testified, as did a police lieutenant and sergeant from the Breckenridge Hills Police Department.

The jury recommended 25 years in prison on each count. By statute, the two terms must run consecutively. The court will set a sentencing hearing that will be posted on Casenet (this is Case # 17SL-CR00368-01).

The defendant, who is from Guatemala, maintained his innocence during the sentencing phase and plans to appeal the decision.

“I applaud these resilient individuals for their courage in confronting the man who raped them and seeking justice,” said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell. “I thank this jury for serving through an unusually lengthy trial and holding the defendant accountable for his actions.”
