ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Three men have been charged in connection with the murder of Kcoree Warren, a witness who was killed for standing up for what he believed in. Kcoree was a single father who loved his children more than anything. Those who knew him say his daughter and son were his world, and he died protecting the truth.

According to prosecutors, the men orchestrated a murder-for-hire plot to silence Kcoree Warren after he agreed to testify in a child sex crime case. When he refused to back down or take a bribe, they allegedly made a plan to have him killed. After the hit was carried out, the same suspects are accused of turning around and murdering the hitman to erase any connection to the crime.
St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Price Smith held a press conference alongside Assistant Prosecutor John Schlesinger and Ferguson Police Chief Troy Doyle. She stated the case originated from a 2025 sexual assault investigation. Kcoree, who had been asked to testify, was reportedly approached with a bribe to remain silent. When that didn’t work, the situation escalated into a deadly conspiracy.
Lavor J. Harmon, Anthony L. Young, and Anthony D. Young have all been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, one count of knowingly exploding or burning, and one count of tampering with evidence. Harmon, 40, was already facing separate charges of second-degree statutory sodomy and statutory rape.
All three suspects are currently in custody with bonds set at $2 million each. The two Youngs, ages 52 and 23, are also in federal custody related to an unrelated investigation.
Kcoree Warren’s name deserves to be remembered. He was a good man, a father, and a fighter for what was right. He chose integrity over silence, and for that, his life was taken. But his voice still echoes. And his children will always know that their father stood tall.
