A sad scene of events as responders with the Maryland Heights Fire District recovered a 14-year-old boy who had drowned.
The crew located the boy roughly 20-30 feet off the shore. The teen had went missing shortly after 7pm. There were no signs of the boy wearing any safety jackets.
There have been 10 drowning deaths this current year and the seventh in the month of June in the Metropolitan area.
