18-year-old Neptali j. Mejia was charged with the shooting death of 19-year-old Jonathan Cruz. On Tuesday RSTLNS responded to a shooting near the 3000 block of Cherokee. According to authorities, this incident was a retaliation shooting for the death of 20-year-old Dominquez-Amaya who was shot and killed on August 3, 2020, in the 3000 block of Louisana.
18-year-old Neptali J confessed to being a getaway driver involved in the shooting death of Cruz. He is being charged with 1st-degree murder. As of right now, no other suspects have been apprehendeded.
