Bonita Scott was fatally shot and killed yesterday after police say she was found inside a vehicle fleeing the scene of a shooting near the Preservation Square housing complex in the Carr Square neighborhood.

According to authorities, SWAT officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it refused to pull over. The vehicle was later spiked and eventually came to a stop on the McKinley Bridge.
Police say two males were detained at the scene, while Bonita was discovered in the backseat suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. She sadly died inside the vehicle.
Right now, many people are mourning her loss because beyond the headlines, Bonita was somebody’s daughter and somebody’s mother.
The full details surrounding the shooting have not yet been released, but one thing is clear… this situation ended in tragedy.
On behalf of The New Real STL News, we want to send our condolences and prayers to Bonita’s family, friends, and everyone affected by this loss.
