38-year-old Kevin Karnes was shot in South St. Louis around 3 p.m. in the 3700 block of Winnebago Street. When officers arrived, they found him with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
A witness at the scene told police that Karnes and the teenage suspect were related and that the teen was the only person seen with a gun before the shooting. Authorities say the two had gotten into it just before the gunfire broke out.
