A man has been shot and killed at a gas station in North City, and he has now been identified as Phillip Campbell.
The shooting occurred in the 4100 block of West Florissant Avenue. According to information shared with The New Real STL News, the incident began as a confrontation that escalated after an exchange of words between Campbell and another party. The situation quickly turned physical, and it is alleged that Campbell was attacked before a firearm was introduced.
As for why this happened, loved ones say it all stemmed from a dispute that spiraled out of control. What should have ended in words instead ended in gunfire.
