On Friday, August 27, Lionel Miller, 21, pleaded guilty to Murder Second Degree, a Class A Felony, in Division 14 of St. Louis County Circuit Court and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the court. By statute, he must serve 85% of the sentence before eligibility for parole.

Miller admitted that on October 7, 2018, he shot and killed a friend in Northwoods after an argument over a dice game and debt. This case was investigated by the St. Louis County Police Department.

“No game and no debt should cost anyone their life or ten years of their life,” said St. Louis County Circuit Wesley Bell. “We pray this guilty plea brings some semblance of closure to the grieving family of this young victim.”
