A newly opened restaurant on 8th Street was the scene of a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man .
Officers responded to a call at the restaurant and found 22-year-old Christopher Frye-Pleasant of St. Louis City inside the establishment suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS transported him to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Following a swift investigation, authorities arrested 20-year-old La’Juan Johnson in connection to the shooting. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has since filed charges against Johnson, including Murder in the First Degree and Armed Criminal Action. His booking photo has been made public.
