Let’s talk about these monkeys.
In all seriousness, we don’t know exactly where they came from but there’s a strong possibility they may have escaped from someone’s home or private setup. From the looks of it, they appear to be Vervet monkeys a species often used in scientific research, including vaccine testing and neurological studies.
It’s been confirmed that four of them are on the loose and what’s even more unsettling is the fact that no official sources have explained how they got out, where they came from, or what kind of risk they might pose to the public.
Let’s be real that alone has our eyebrows raised.
And this needs to be said clearly if you see one, do NOT approach it. We don’t know what these animals have been exposed to or how they’ll react. This ain’t the time for TikToks and laughs. It’s a public health concern.
