On Monday, February 14, 27-year-old Kalup Huggins pleaded guilty to Statutory Sodomy 1st Degree – Person Less than 12 years in Division 15 of St. Louis County Circuit Court.
The court sentenced Huggins to 12 years in prison. He also must now register with the State of Missouri as a sex offender.
Huggins admitted that between March 1, 2017 and April 30, 2017, in St. Louis County, he touched the vagina of a 7-year-old child. Huggins was a friend of the child’s family.
These incidents were investigated by the St. Louis County Police Department.
“It is good that this defendant took responsibility for his despicable actions and spared this victim, who is still a child, from testifying at trial and being forced to relive this trauma all over again” said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell. “We thank this courageous young person for coming forward and enabling us to hold this predator accountable, and we pray this conviction brings some closure and peace of mind.”
