One person has been identified following a fatal crash early Monday morning in North St. Louis County.
35-year-old Sharika Ellison, also known as Latrice on Facebook, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 270 near Lilac Avenue around 5:35 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Investigators say the 2016 Chrysler 200 she was driving traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, returned to the roadway, then traveled off the right side and struck a concrete barrier.
Sharika was pronounced dead at the scene. A 13-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.The crash temporarily shut down all lanes of eastbound I-270 before reopening later that morning.
