A deadly crash shut down part of the highway early Saturday morning in St. Louis County. The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on I-270 just south of Highway 370.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the victim’s vehicle was stopped in one of the lanes when they got out of the car and stepped into traffic. A passing driver hit the person, killing them on impact.
Troopers say the driver who struck the victim stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities. No further details have been released at this time.
