GameStop is shutting down over 430 stores across 42 states, continuing a wave of closures that’s been hitting retail hard. The company already closed 590 stores in 2024, and now even more locations are going dark as they try to stay afloat in a world where most people just download games straight to their devices. Like many big-name stores, they’re being forced to cut costs and move online, which means real people losing real jobs.
