FORMER FOX 2 ANCHOR ANGELYNN MOCK CHARGED IN MOTHER’S MURDER
WICHITA, KANSAS – A former St. Louis news anchor has been charged with murder after police say she fatally stabbed her 80-year-old mother in Wichita.
According to Wichita police, officers responded around 8 a.m. Friday to the 1500 block of East Crowley Street for a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, they found 47-year-old Angelynn Mock outside the residence. Inside the home, officers discovered her mother, Anita Avers, in bed with multiple stab wounds.
Avers was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later. Mock was also treated at a hospital, though authorities haven’t disclosed why.
Mock’s LinkedIn profile shows she previously worked as a morning anchor and reporter for Fox 2 in St. Louis from 2011 to 2015.
As of now, she is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder. Details about her first court appearance have not yet been released.
