WHO SHOT ERIK SPENCER AND WHY IS THE PUBLIC BEING KEPT IN THE DARK?

What was supposed to be a celebration of legacy and pride ended in heartbreak and unanswered questions. Erik Spencer, a Lincoln University alum, was gunned down during the school’s 100th Homecoming weekend, and the response since then has been disturbingly quiet.

Witnesses say Erik and his girlfriend had a disagreement outside a store near campus. A white man rumored to be an off-duty correctional officer intervened despite the girlfriend allegedly making it clear that they were fine. Within moments, the man opened fire on Eric, shooting him multiple times in the head. Some witnesses say it was five times. That wasn’t self-defense, that was execution.

Erik was reportedly unarmed. No threats were made. And yet, days later, there’s still no official name or image of the shooter. No arrest updates. No public accountability. The lack of urgency from authorities is raising eyebrows and drawing outrage.

Students and alumni say they feel disrespected. They’re watching how fast law enforcement moves in other situations especially when the suspect is Black and comparing it to the silence now. What’s worse is how quickly the narrative shifted.

Authorities claim updates are coming but for many on campus and in the community, the silence is saying everything.
