The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department executed a major search warrant Thursday morning in the Marine Villa neighborhood following ongoing complaints and recent violent incidents.
District 3 officers and detectives led the operation at 36 condemned apartment units in the 3600 block of Illinois Avenue near South Broadway. The buildings had previously been condemned due to unsafe conditions and have been tied to multiple shooting incidents in recent months.
During the raid, officers recovered 10 firearms, including two reported stolen weapons, along with an AR-15 style pistol modified to function as fully automatic. Investigators also located narcotics inside the property.
In total, 13 people were arrested on various charges, including illegal weapon possession and drug trafficking. Police also issued 63 summons
