Riverview officials are speaking out after racist graffiti, including references to the Ku Klux Klan, was discovered on buildings throughout the city. In response, Mayor Mike Cornell and the Board of Aldermen have announced a press conference scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Riverview City Hall, located at 9699 Lilac Drive.

The graffiti has residents concerned and frustration also community leaders, many of whom view the messages as a threat to public safety and an attack on the diverse population of Riverview. While law enforcement has not released further details about potential suspects, the presence of white supremacist language has drawn attention from regional civil rights organizations and activists.
Mayor Cornell is urging residents, civil rights leaders, and concerned individuals to stand in solidarity at the upcoming press conference. βIn solidarity, we can renew our community,β the mayor stated, calling on the region to denounce hate and reaffirm the cityβs commitment to unity.
