Six Flags St. Louis could soon be sold off as its parent company, Six Flags Entertainment, scrambles to get a handle on its finances.
After merging with Cedar Fair in 2024, the company has struggled with declining attendance and rising debt, and now they’re looking at every option to stay afloat including the possible sale or closure of multiple parks across the country.
Recent trademark filings show the company is preparing to rebrand several parks under a new name Enchanted Kingdoms with mentions of a St. Louis location. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the move has sparked speculation that our local park might be bought out by a new company or put under new management.
In the meantime, some Six Flags locations have already faced permanent shutdowns, like Six Flags America in Maryland, which is closing after the 2025 season. Now, all eyes are on what’s next for the St. Louis park.
