Two people are in custody in relation to the 5 men who were shot and killed this past Saturday in the 1900 block of Chambers Rd.

The two are only being questioned at the moment, so no charges have been filed and is it not clear if they will come about.

Authorities believe that drugs played a huge role in the homicide.

The victims are being identified as Derrick Penny, 54 years of age; James L. Penny, 54 years of age; Rodney E. Holt, 37 years of age; Rondall Mullin, 65 years of age; and Ronald Brewster Jr., 40 years of age.

Majority of the building is boarded up and considered vacant. Residents around the area told RSTLN that they have called police multiple times about drug activity and consistent traffic in and out of the apartment area.

RSTLN reached out to the apartment leasing office but only got a voicemail.

The investigation is being led by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.
