We are deeply saddened to share that 45-year-old LaTasha Brown has passed away just hours after the loss of her 9-year-old daughter, Paige Buckner.
First responders were called to a home on the 5700 block of Floyd Avenue around midnight, where both LaTasha and Paige were found inside shot and surrounded by flames. They were rushed to the hospital clinging to life, but neither survived.
LaTasha was known and loved by many. She was educated, poised, and deeply rooted in her community. As a core member of the Southeast Ferguson Community Association, she gave her time, her voice, and her heart to making life better for others. People who knew her didn’t just speak about her strength they felt it. Whether she was showing up for her neighbors or standing tall for what she believed in, LaTasha was a light.
Now, that light has joined her daughter in peace.Two beautiful souls, reunited far too soon. May they both rest gently, and may those who love them feel comfort in the love they left behind.
