St. Louis county prosecutors charged 23-year-old Portis Williams with endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest Monday morning.
Investigators say that Williams exposed an 8-month-old baby to fentanyl inside of a north county home. He took the child to the emergency room, then upon leaving he drove off erratically. Police allegedly attempted to stop Williams but they lost him.
The baby went into cardiac arrest and remains in the hospital with brain damage.
