A shooting unfolded near the intersection of West Florissant and Canfield Drive on January 23rd when Edward Johnson was shot and killed while driving with his daughter. According to authorities, the shooting stemmed from an altercation that began when Johnson honked his horn at a group of pedestrians. What followed was a senseless act of violence that ended the life of a man many describe as a loving father and stand-up individual.
Police responded quickly, securing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses. Their investigation led them to a nearby apartment complex, where they obtained a search warrant and found clothing that matched witness descriptions. Several people were detained, and 29-year-old Deandre U Spruill, also later confessed to the shooting, according to police.
He is now being charged with first degree murder but that is only a bandage to the pain he caused!
