18-year-old Wuaniata Gibson, who was reported missing out of the Baden neighborhood on Monday, December 22, has been found deceased.
Wuaniata’s family initially reached out to us after she did not show up for work and could not be contacted, something they said was completely out of character for her. Loved ones grew concerned quickly, knowing this was not like her at all.
On Monday morning, a body was recovered from the Mississippi River near Festus. Detectives have since confirmed that the remains are Wuaniata Gibson.
This is not the update we wanted for her family and friends. On behalf of The New Real STL News, we ask that you keep her loved ones lifted in prayer during this unimaginable time. We are also praying that the full truth comes to light and that her family receives the justice they deserve.
